Frontman Alexander Ridha of German electro act Boys Noize recently announced an October release of his new album Out of the Black. After working non-stop on tracks for artists like Santigold and the Scissor Sisters for the last two years, he decided it was time to work on his own material again.
A preview of the new album, in the form of opening track What you want, has been circulating on the internet lately and has that classic raw Boys Noize vibe to it. It feels like Ridha has gone back to the powerful, Kraftwerk-like sound, similar to his debut album Oi oi oi. The track starts off with a simple vocal lick and a basic drum loop, but turns into a huge electronic explosion later on, and with a little nod to dubstep too. What you want will be released on October 2nd on Boys Noize Records and will probably feature some powerful remixes alongside the original.
