‘Fierce, flamboyant, sexy bear disco queen’. Those are words we read on Hard Ton’s official Facebook page. And that’s an apt description. The curvaceous singer and performer from Italy has been working on his musical career for years now, and prefers to describe his style as a mix of acid house and italo disco.
Together with his producer – whom he met on a chat site – he creates tracks that sound as if they were made in the late 80′s or early 90′s. You’ll hear classic drum machines everywhere.
Raw and unpolished
Hard Ton’s singing skills remind us of disco superstar Sylvester’s falsetto voice, whom you’ll probably recognize when you hear You Make Me Feel from 1978. If you’re into the classic sounds of, say, Azari & III, you’re going to enjoy listening to Hard Ton – albeit a bit more raw and unpolished.
Read enough? Ready to see it with your own eyes? Check out some of Hard Ton’s videos and judge for yourself. You may not like his music, but you can’t deny the fact that the flamboyant singer has guts.
And in case the above picture of Hard Ton in a flexible pose reminds you of something, check out this album cover of Grace Jones. Recognize the resemblance?
