Starting today, we’ll be bringing you a new column: RATE IT! Your chance to let us know if you enjoy listening to this new and upcoming artist’s music. Let’s get cracking, first off: White Blush.
Carol Rhyu, better known as White Blush, sent us her debut EP featuring 6 dreamy and ambient electronic pop songs. From the 80′s Sinead O’Connor on acid sounding Jolene, to the harrowing Wait, White Blush knows to surprise and excite as well as to strike and move you. Carol is originally from Chicago and was in film school when she began playing in synth bands around LA. In February, she began recording under White Blush drawing from old J-horror, anime, and Julee Cruise. Her favorite artists also include Grimes, Cocteau Twins, Mazzy Star, and The Soft Moon. Check out some songs of her below, and don’t forget to visit her Soundcloud for the full album.
