When we last wrote about Thomas Azier, it became clear to us that the Berlin based singer is one of this year’s most promising talents. And what does this bode for his future? For now, he has just premiered his new EP, giving us another peek into this stunning synth-orientated creations.
The whole of Hylas 002 EP is one big dark, electronic pop adventure as a result of Azier’s solitude. Currently residing in Berlin, the young singer undergoes and explores what isolation in the ever changing bi city does to his creativity. As doom and gloom as this may sound, he’s turned it to his advantage. He wrote and produced all of the songs himself, with only help from co-producer and sound designer Robin Hunt. From the ominous Fire Arrows and the melancholic Angelene, to the stunning acoustic Shade of Black, the EP is definitely well-matched and has Azier holding all the aces.
